The carrots is just eh. I've ate in and ordered pick up before and both times were very smooth experiences. First off - the box is pretty big and it feels like half chicken and half rice with a small amount of shredded carrots and three slices of cucumber. I always have their chicken curry with chicken rice whenever i went to chicken rice shop and i kinda like the curry there. Every dish comes with fresh cucumbers and pickled carrots.
Now that is innovation taking a step in the right direction. I devoured the meal thinking I would save some for tomorrow. Dark meat for me, thank you very much. The chicken rice shop had it all sorted out by offering us a plate of bean sprout — a popular veggie dish for chicken rice meal. Today, they serve steamed, roasted, honey barbequed or braised chicken as part of their signature dishes. First of all, the presentation was very poor. What a find, thank you Yelp! But this time was super bad.
The humble owners are so passionate in what they do which was reflected in their delicious Hainan Chicken Rice. Everything is so darn good here. The coffee meats tea tasted strong and was just the right amount of sweetness. They pride ourselves in providing friendly quick service for all their customers. We also wanted a light lunch so it was perfect. Overall, nice quick place to grab lunch! Parking might be a challenge during busy times but be patient or order to go to hop in and out quickly! Found in a small strip mall, this is such a great comfort food stop and great value for lunch and dinner. I love the simple concept and unfussy food.
Menu including prices for The Chicken Rice Shop may have changed since the last time the website was updated. They made the soup self-serve so you can take as much soup as you want! They have a bathroom and enough indoor seating for about 20 people. I was glad I got the opportunity to try this place, finally! Actually, eating it at dinner was really good!! There are comfortable regular dining tables as well as booth seats in the restaurants. What I ultimately loved about this place is the assortment of vegetables and the soup. My friend referred me here which I found out of my way by Levi Stadium. Comes pre-sweeten so you can't change that part.
As your side, you can choose mixed green, chicken rice, or brown rice. The soup is self-serve and there's a bunch of sauces you can grab. It really just tastes like chicken broth. Second, the rice flavor wasn't like anything before as well. Service was efficient and friendly.
It's such a simple but great meal. The combinations are gone and the soup and sauces are all on a table to the side so you can help yourself to whatever you want. A couple of things since I first stopped by. We see ourselves coming here often. I think a lot of people do take out.
Let me get straight to the point. Luckily I found parking -- simply because I was lucky. There are two different plates that you can choose from. Since that first encounter back in March, I've made a point to visit Chicken Meets Rice multiple times. The rice was flavored and was really tasty. The tofu was the perfect texture and with the amazing variety of sauces was quite tasty.
Yay, finally open on weekends!!! I enjoyed the meal as much as my wife and daughter for sure. Keep them bops playing for me. The rice was really good at first but then got a little salty. The chicken is soft as poached chicken should be. I had half left for lunch the next day! Located in a small strip plaza near Levi's stadium, I was surprised that that it was packed on a Sunday afternoon especially since it's surrounded by office buildings.
